Undoubtedly, we Greeks have a tremendous love for honey as it is one of the most excellent products produced in our country. We use it in many recipes both in confectionery and in cooking. Honey, however, when it is overheated, it loses its properties and aromas (which is why we always add it to our tea at the end, after the temperature drops). For this reason, if you want to make a honey-flavored dessert that will be baked, add a few drops of this flavor.

where can i add honey flavor?

Honey goes well with yogurt and nuts. It also highlights the taste of certain fruits such as apple or fig. Here are some ideas for recipes to add honey flavor:

  • in carrot or apple cake
  • in apple tart or apple crumble
  • in tahini cake
  • in peanut butter desserts such as cookies or brownies
  • in creams such as creme brulee or champagne cream
  • in cookies with cinnamon and cloves

That is, for 1000ml of mixture (eg cake dough) we will use 1ml of honey flavor. Pay attention to the dosage, do not overdo it, as our flavors are very concentrated and have a very strong effect. Do a test with a few drops and if necessary, increase the dosage until you reach the desired taste.
